Project / Release Manager

We have an immediate need for a software Release Manager.

This is a Release Management position that is part of a team developing a web-based product for the travel industry. The Release Manager will drive multiple software product releases to completion in a tight time frame.

S/He will ensure that the software release cycles are executed according to plan and that the release deliverables meet the Engineering, Stakeholder’s and Senior Management expectations. The Release Manager will report on product release progress and risk.

S/He will drive the product release activities including project planning, communicating and coordinating with the different teams (Analysis, Development, QA, Configuration and Build Management teams, Senior Management and Key Stakeholders), on product release key dates and project statistics.

The Release Manager will drive deliverables, while coordinating planning and management of product release processes, facilitating development of product release estimates and other project tracking metrics.

Qualifications/Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate build and release schedules.

  • Define deliverables and commitments with engineering team.

  • Coordinate with developers and database administrators to ensure modified code meets requirements for release to production and to maintain release history.

  • Ensure and prioritize scope of release in accordance with business requirement documents.

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and releases simultaneously throughout entire SDLC.

  • Assess product release risk factors, and execute appropriate courses of action to mitigate.

  • Create and disseminate project and release status documentation and communications.

  • Introduce process changes as appropriate to help facilitate the delivery of quality products.

  • Facilitate collaboration across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years experience in Release Management.

  • Experience in leading software development projects involving Microsoft Technologies.

  • Strong ability to lead and motivate team members.

  • Proven track record of delivering software projects and releases per expectations.

  • Solid Release Management skills, methodologies and analytical skills.

  • Successfully manage and deliver multiple releases for cross-functional team.

  • Ability to understand in-depth technical aspects of software development.

  • Sound business judgment and ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Diplomacy, tact and relationship building skills as well as ability to compromise.

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills.

Special Skills

  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.

  • MS Visual Studio.

  • MS Project & strong comprehension of Agile Project Management methodology.

  • Familiarity with .Net technology is a plus.
